Dr. Güven's primary area of interest revolves around comprehensively understanding speech-language impairments observed in various neurodevelopmental disorders. He is deeply committed to enhancing the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions by employing computational and neuropsychological methodologies.
His overarching aim is to advance our comprehension of the intricate nature and underlying mechanisms of speech and language disorders in children. Through leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, his meticulous exploration of these disorders holds the potential to redefine their diagnosis and treatment paradigms, marking the onset of precision medicine within this domain. Ultimately, Dr. Güven aims to improve the quality of life for children affected by speech and language disorders, while also empowering healthcare professionals with sustainable resources to effect enduring change.
Career Summary
Following the completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Güven engaged in postdoctoral research at Purdue University within the Department of Speech, Hearing, and Language Sciences. Subsequently, he continued his academic pursuits as a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University's School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. This was followed by another postdoctoral research position at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, IVADO, situated at the University of Montreal. Additionally, he has served as a visiting researcher at the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University in Israel.
