Career Summary
I received my medical degree and my training in internal medicine at the University of Montreal in 1985. After complementary training in Toronto and Oxford (United Kingdom) in the field of Obstetrical Medicine, I got a master in Biomedical Sciences and practiced at the CHU Sainte-Justine in Obstetrical Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and at the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Internal Medicine. I am head of Obstetrical Medicine at the CHU Sainte-Justine since 1992.
I am mainly involved in clinical research on the impact of maternal medical problems on fetal growth, either intrauterine growth restriction or macrosomia. In the field of hypertension, I am interested in the prevention of gestational hypertension and intrauterine growth restriction and in the impact of maternal hypertension treatment on maternal and fetal hemodynamics. I am also involved in clinical studies on the relationship linking asthma and thrombotic disorders to gestational hypertension and fetal growth restriction. In the field of diabetes, I explore the prevention, the diagnosis and the treatment of gestational diabetes and macrosomia.
