    Research Interests

    Researcher Helen Trottier's current epidemiologic research focuses on the field on infectious disease, especially on the dynamics of childhood infectious diseases, vaccine preventable diseases, and infectious diseases that cause cancer such as human papillomavirus (HPV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and other Human Herpes viruses (HHV). Her interest focus on the perinatal transmission of virus, pregnancy outcome associated with viral infection and transmission of infection through blood products. Helen Trottier holds several research grants and salary awards from CIHR and FRQ-S.

    Career Summary

    Researcher Helen Trottier obtained a doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Montreal (2004) and a post-doctorate from McGill University (2008). She has been running a major research laboratory since 2008 at the CHU Sainte-Justine. She has obtained several important fundings and has published more than a hundred scientific articles. Full professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the Université de Montréal, she is responsible for various programs and courses in epidemiology and the supervision of postgraduate students at the Faculty of Medicine and ESPUM.
