Research Interests
My research interests involve two themes related to paediatric emergency:
The first theme is emergency paediatric triage. We are studying the Canadian Paediatric Triage and Acuity Scale in order to improve its reliability and validity. We are pioneers in the evaluation of a computerized paediatric triage tool. Lastly, we are reviewing new strategies aimed at optimizing the resources used in emergency triage.
The second theme is minor paediatric trauma. Sports-related injuries such as sprained ankles are often described as minor even though they have a significant impact on both the patients and the health system due to their high prevalence. My ultimate goal is to evaluate investigative tools and minor paediatric trauma risk factors. This evaluation is conducted with the help of clinical epidemiological research.
