Dr Fiscaletti’s research interests center on optimizing bone health in children and adolescents by identifiying risk and protective factors that impact bone mass accrual and bone strength. Specifically, her main interests aims to better understand the underlying mechanisms of acquired bone fragility in children with medical complexity, such as those with cerebral palsy and optimizing treatment protocols in this patient population.
Career Summary
Dr Fiscaletti is a pediatrician and clinical researcher at the Bone and mineral disorders clinic of Sainte-Justine University Health Center. Her interest in musculoskeletal health began with a BSc in physical therapy at McGill University. She went on to obtain her MD and pediatrics specialization at l’Université de Montréal. Her post-doctoral studies included a Masters in epidemiology and a thesis centering on creating pediatric normative values of bone mineral density at the lateral distal femur to better assess bone health in children with musculoskeletal deformity. She completed a fellowship in Sydney Australia at The Children’s Hopstial at Westmead Bone and mineral clinic under the supervision of Professor Craig Munns. She is currently a member of the Musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation and medical technologies research axis.
