    Title

    • Full Professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Montreal.
    • Researcher, CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center.

    Education

    • PhD, Université Paris VII, 1983.
    • MD, Université Paris VI, 1982.

    Research Interests

From 1988 to 2005 I was in charge of the Centre d'étude des déficits immunitaires at the Necker Hospital for Sick Children in Paris (France). During this period I studied the physiopathology of certain hereditary immune diseases including immunodeficiency and autoimmune diseases.

I have continued my career as a researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center since 2005 where my interests have focused on:

    • Immune reconstitution following hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
    • Innate immunity and infections: Are certain infections observed in the population due to a specific genetically determined susceptibility?
    • Hereditary immunodeficiencies: elucidating novel mechanisms responsible for still poorly understood immunodeficiency.
    • Immune reconstitution after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation constitutes an in vivo lymphocyte differentiation model.
    • Pharmacodynamics of immunosuppression: understanding the mechanisms behind the variability in susceptibility to treatments prescribed to organ transplant patients.

    Presentations

    • Lapeyraque AL, Durrieu V, Phan V, Alvarez F, Raboisson MJ, Haddad E, Brito RM, Lajeunesse J, Théorêt Y, Le Deist F.
