    Research Interests

    Over the past 20 years I have developed a research program focused on the prediction and prevention of various fetal and maternal complications including preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction, fetal aneuploidies, and preterm birth. A common aspect of the approach I am investigating is the development and validation of prenatal screening tests combining markers of different nature (clinical, biophysical and biochemical). I am also involved in the evaluation of fetal therapies, particularly fetoscopic placental laser treatment for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

    Career Summary

    Dr François Audibert obtained his medical degree from the University of Paris VI in 1994, with a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After a research fellowship in the division of maternal-fetal medicine, University of Memphis, Tennessee in 1995 with Dr. Sibai, he worked as teaching assistant and practitioner in maternal-fetal medicine at the Antoine Béclère hospital, University of Paris XI. He completed a Master's degree in epidemiology and clinical research (University of Paris) in 2001, and was recruited at the University of Montreal and CHU Ste-Justine in 2003. His main research studies prenatal screening, preeclampsia, and twin pregnancies. He is currently Full Professor and Head of the division of maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Montreal. He is author or co-author of more than 250 scientific publications.
