Her field of research concerns bone and mineral metabolism disorders in paediatrics, particularly the involvement of endocrine and cytokine pathways. Her research interests include secondary osteoporosis in infancy and childhood, as well as the late endocrine and metabolic side effects resulting from treatments for childhood malignancy.
Career Summary
Dr. Nathalie Alos received her MD degree from the School of Medicine at the Université de Toulouse and obtained her paediatric training at the Université de Bordeaux. Following four years of residency in Paediatrics at Bordeaux, she completed a three-year fellowship in paediatric hemato-oncology during which she was involved in a clinical research program on paediatric pain and the late effects of treatments for childhood malignancy, particularly endocrine dysfunction. Later she went on to pursue a two-year paediatric endocrine fellowship at CHU Sainte-Justine, affiliated with the University of Montreal. After two years as Head of the Paediatric Department at the Narbonne Hospital (France), she obtained a two-year research fellowship grant from the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology in the laboratory of Dr. Francis Glorieux at the Shriners Hospital for Children (McGill University) in Montreal. She has recently joined the paediatric endocrine team at CHU Sainte-Justine. Dr. Alos is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Montreal.
