    Research Interests

    • Study of the associations between fear (amygdala, ventro-medial prefrontal cortex) and reward (amygdala, striatum, orbito-frontal cortex) neuronal circuitry function (using magnetic resonance imagery techniques), anxiety disorders and major depression in children and adolescents.
    • Study of the associations between early life adversity (emotional and physical negligence, abuse), fear and reward circuitry function (using magnetic resonance imagery techniques), cortisol (stress hormone) function and emotion regulation in children and adolescents.
    • Study of the associations between medial temporal lobe (amygdala, hippocampus) and fear circuitry function (using magnetic resonance imagery techniques), chronic corticosteroid dysfunctions, memory and emotional difficulties (anxiety, major depression) in children and adolescents with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (corticosteroids hyposecretion, androgens hypersecretion) and Cushing syndrome (corticosteroids hypersecretion).
    • Characterization of the psycho-emotional profile and pain response in youths with, or at high risk for, idiopathic scoliosis. Evaluation of the emotional and pain regulation using behavioural tasks, and evaluation of neuronal substrates underlying emotional and pain processing using magnetic resonance imagery techniques.
