    Research Interests

    Christine Valiquette was a professor in the Speech Therapy Department at the UQTR from 2011 to 2013 before returning to Montreal to work as a specialized clinician in the Augmentative and Alternative Communication program at the CRME where she works in collaboration with various researchers. She is also a lecturer for Master’s students in Speech Therapy at the UQTR and an instructor in augmentative and alternative communication for various groups of professionals, teachers and specialized educators.

    For 15 years Christine Valiquette worked as a speech therapist with persons with intellectual disabilities in specialized school settings. Her thesis focused on professional practice in relation to persons with intellectual disabilities using technical speech aids. Her research interests focus on the use of technical communication devices to foster language development and social interaction.
