Clinical Research Unit in Orthopedics (URCO)

Unit Presentation

The URCO brings together multidisciplinary researchers in musculoskeletal diseases and movement sciences at the CHU Sainte-Justine. Their research fields include, among others, 3D evaluation of the human body, clinical research and innovative surgical techniques based on an integrated molecular biology approach. The team is also working on further enhancements to its virtual operating software and scoliosis screening tests.

  • The EOS system is a low-dose X Ray imager that can monitor patients systematically over time, access soft tissue and evaluate patients in a standing position. The system is able to take fast and simultaneous front and side views of standing patients.
  • Robotized Biochemical
    TestingThe Beckman Coulter robotic platform provides high biochemical assay throughput in a fraction of the time. It can be used for a wide range of tests and applies research protocols in a standard way.
