Clinical research and knowledge transfer unit on childhood asthma (CRUCA)

Influence of neighbourhood characteristics and obesity on asthma outcomes in children and adolescents

This study aimed to evaluate a range of built environment factors (connectivity, mixed land uses, etc.) and social factors (poverty, low education, etc.) related to indicators of control asthma and also evaluate whether, through various mechanisms, overweight and obesity increase the vulnerability to asthma control in adverse environmental conditions. These objectives will be addressed in a cohort of asthmatic children aged 1-17 years.
