Clinical research and knowledge transfer unit on childhood asthma (CRUCA)

Identification of barriers to optimal asthma management by physicians

This project aims to gain better understanding of the barriers faced to long-term prescription of control medication and the use of a self-managed action plan in the treatment of asthma; to identify facilitators and potential solutions allowing optimal asthma management by health-care professionals: and explore the choices of therapeutic recommendations. The ultimate objective of this project is to propose potential solutions that would be feasible and useful to implement by Quebec doctors to fill the gap between actual practice and best practice standards.
