QUARISMA - Quality of Care, Management of Obstetrical Risk and Mode of Delivery in Quebec

This is a multi-site, stratified, nonblinded, cluster randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the efficacy of the QUARISMA program in a complex intervention group compared with a control group. It is expected that this trial will provide strong evidence to promote an approach in which health care professionals are directly involved in the analysis and modification of health care processes and thereby improve the quality of obstetrical services. The findings will help to mobilize health care professionals to improve the quality of obstetrical services, standardize quality improvement, meet patient needs regarding various modes of delivery and thereby reduce the cesarean section rate on a long-term basis.
