Efficacy and safety of the SQ tree sublingual immunotherapy tablet in children and adolescents (5 through 17 years of age) with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis and/or conjunctivitis induced by pollen from birch and trees belonging to the birch homologous group.

Research project summary
The TreeTop Study will involve around 1000 participants in study centers across Europe and Canada and 103 in Quebec. You will receive a medical diagnosis of your allergy and support symptom control. This study will investigate the efficacy and safety of a tree pollen immunotherapy tablet in children and teenagers with birch pollen allergy. This tablet has already been approved for use in adults.
Who can participate?
- Aged 5-17 years
- Allergic to birch pollen
- Experience moderate to severe allergic rhinitis and/or conjunctivitis
There are other criteria that must be met to join the Tree Top Study which will be discussed with you.
Who can not participate?
- Have a relevant clinical history of a perennial allergy (i.e. pet, molds, etc.) that you are exposed to regularly
- Current treatment with any allergy immunotherapy product
- Have any clinical deterioration of asthma (i.e. asthma exacerbation) that resulted in emergency treatment, hospitalisation or treatment with systemic corticosteroids within 3 months prior to randomisation
What should they expect in terms of process and engagement?
Your participation in the study will last approximately of 17 months. There will be 6 planned visits to the study center and 4 telephone calls with the research team.
