Montreal, Canada, November 14, 2011 - This year the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center, with the support of the Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation, is launching the 2012 International Sainte-Justine UHC Foundation Postdoctoral Scholarships for Excellence competition. The competition is intended for the world’s postdoctoral elite in evaluative, clinical and fundamental biomedical research. Three CAD$150,000 scholarships for three years will be awarded. Each one comes with CAD$15,000 seed funding in the first year provided by the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center. The determinant selection criteria are the excellence of the file and the applicant’s official mentorship under one of the Center’s “active researchers.”

They enable future postdoctoral students to carve out a niche for themselves in the 1st mother-child center in Canada and 4th in America, along with investigators who enjoy international acclaim in the university hospital research center’s six areas of priority research: Health Outcomes, Brain Diseases, Musculoskeletal Diseases and Movement Sciences, Viral and Immune Disorders and Cancers, Fetomaternal and Neonatal Pathologies and Metabolic Health.
