Dr. Jean-François Bussières wins 2013 Award for Innovation from the Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec

Montreal, Monday, August 6, 2013 – Dr. Jean-François Bussières, a researcher in the Health Outcomes axis and Head of the Department of Pharmacy at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center (CHU Sainte-Justine), received the Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec (OPQ) 2013 Award for Innovation for establishing the CHU Sainte-Justine’s Pharmaceutical Practice Research Unit (Unité de recherche en pratique pharmaceutique - URPP). The URPP celebrated its 10th anniversary last November.

The URPP is the only unit of its kind in Canada and its mission is to assess pharmacy practice, encourage the emergence of pharmacist-researchers and maintain its hub of innovative research activities in pharmacy practice. The Award for Innovation underscores excellence and the innovative aspect of the pharmacy care the URPP offers and its multiple benefits for the well-being of the population.

Dr. Jean-François Bussières is a full clinical professor in the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Chair of the SigmaSanté Pharmacists’ Committee. His team already has more than 715 written and poster communications to its credit.
