Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center is among the finalists of the 2012 Premio Venezia of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada
Montréal, January 29, 2012 – The Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Center is among the 2012 finalists announced by The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada for the 10th edition of Premio Venezia, which recognize annually the excellence in partnerships between Italy and Québec in various sectors of activity, including health. The center was selected as finalist for the quality, the scope and the innovation which underline the Québec-Italy collaborations within theViscogliosi laboratory of molecular genetics in musculoskeletal diseases at Sainte-Justine. Research is conducted on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, which affects 4% of the Quebec population, and osteoarthritis, which affects one in 10 Canadians, as well as bone cancer, which is the fourth most common cancer in youth under 25 years.
The winners will be announced on February 6th, 2013, during a special award ceremony which will be held at the Palais de Congrès de Montréal, in front of 200 distinguished guests from the business, academic and research communities.
