2014-2015 FRQS competition – 15 research investigators are awarded financial support

Montreal, July 7, 2014 – Fifteen research investigators at Sainte-Justine University Research Center were awarded financial support following the 2014-2015 competition of the Fonds de recherche du Québec- Santé (FRSQ). This success rate reflects the excellence and strength of the Center’s pool of scientists in terms of clinical, epidemiological, and basic research.

Among the 17 research investigators who submitted for a career award, 13 have received a research scholar or clinical research scholar award: seven as recently recruited researchers (junior 1), four as young experimented researchers (junior 2), and two as established researchers (senior). Furthermore, two other researchers were awarded research grants.

The balance achieved between PhD and MD researcher profiles combined with the increasing portion of clinical researchers among the Center’s new recruits reflects the success of the Center’s recruitment strategy and should ultimately contribute to the transfer of research results from the bench to the bedside.
