Engaging youth in healthy behaviours: intervention challenges and strategies

Register now for the 2016 CIRCUIT Symposium on cardiovascular prevention in youth

MONTREAL, March 14, 2016 – The Pediatric Center of Cardiovascular Prevention, Intervention and Rehabilitation (CIRCUIT) of the Sainte-Justine University Health Center (CHU Sainte-Justine) invites students, residents, physicians, nurses, kinesiologists, nutritionists, as well as other health professionals to register for its 7th Symposium on cardiovascular disease prevention in youth.

The Sun Life Financial CIRCUIT Symposium will take place on May 4, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at the CHU Sainte-Justine. This year our theme is “Engaging youth in healthy behaviours: intervention challenges and strategies”. Take advantage of this opportunity and benefit from a half day of cutting-edge talks by leading experts, who will be discussing such issues as: Taking charge of their health: key concepts towards a better intervention model for adolescent health; Engaging adolescents in health care research: challenges and strategies; Bridging the gap between clinical research and practice to better reach adolescents; and mHealth4: Monitoring, modelling, modifying and maintaining health-related behaviours in a digital world.

Our invited speakers are:

  • Sandra Pelaez, PhD, Senior Researcher in Qualitative Methods, St. Mary’s Research Centre
  • Gillian Bartlett, PhD, Full Professor and Director of the Research and Graduate Program, Family Medicine Department, McGill University
  • William Harvey, PhD, Full Professor, Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, McGill University, Director of the C.H.A.M.P.S. Physical Activity Lab, Douglas Mental Health University Institute
  • Donna Spruijt-Metz, MFA, PhD, Director of the USC mHealth Collaboratory, Professor, Department of Preventive Medicine, Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, University of Southern California (This presentation is open to all / No registration required)

This symposium is accredited by the Quebec Kinesiologists’ Federation and an application for a certification of the school of continuing of Université de Montréal is in demand. A participation certificate will be delivered during the symposium along with a payment receipt.
