Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA) Program 2026-2027

The Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA)  provides support for highly qualified applicants in all areas of health research at the postdoctoral degree or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research either in Canada or abroad.

Submit your application

The CHU Sainte-Justine is one of the authorized institutions to administer grant and scholarship funds from CIHR. Students and postdoctoral fellows of the Research Centre may choose to submit their request through the CHU Sainte-Justine.

1. Internal Review
   Candidates wishing to benefit from internal review must contact the program manager (bourses.crhsj.hsj@ssss.gouv.qc.ca) at least one month before the internal deadline. Candidates will be paired with other postdoctoral fellows at the Research Center.
    
2. Submission of the application for internal review
   DEADLINE : September 14, 2026, 8:00 AM
   
   Applicants must submit the application form through ResearchNet before the internal deadline, and by selecting "Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine (Montréal, Québec)" as "Institution Paid" and "Research Institution".
   
   Prepare your application : 
   1. Apply for Canada Postdoctoral Research Award program
   2. See the instructions to complete the application. Some information essential to the composition of the file is only included in the instructions.
   3. Consult the selection criteria
   4. Notify respondents that they will receive, by automated email from CIHR, an invitation to complete the "Respondent Report" online. Your respondents will be required to submit this report on ResearchNet by the internal deadline.
   5. No institutional signatures are required on the signature pages at the time of application.
   6. The application must be complete and submitted via ResearchNet before the internal deadline
       
3. Application validation
   Applications will be reviewed by the program manager based on their format only. Applicants will be contacted if any documents appear to be missing or incomplete.
    
4. Submission to the organization
   DEADLINE : September 16, 2026.
   All complete applications received will be forwarded to CIHR before the organization's deadline
