Eligibility and deadline

Internships eligibility criteria

  • listed in internships bank;
  • must be full time (35 hours per week);
  • must take place within the summer semester, between May 1st to August 31st;
  • paid at a minimum of $ 350/week.

The suggested duration for the internships is 8 to 12 weeks.

The starting date for the internships is at the discretion of the researchers and students concerned, provided that the internship takes place within the authorized period.

To qualify for the internship, applicants must be:

  • 18 years of age or older; 
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or holder of a valid study permit in Quebec for the entire duration of the internship and valid for working in the health service field2;
  • enrolled in a college or university program related to the internship3 (e.g.: biochemistry, biocomputing, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, biological sciences, biomedical sciences, biopharmaceutical sciences, psychology, etc.) in a Canadian institution;

To qualify for one of the $1000 CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation scholarships, applicants must:

  • have applied to an internship offer before the closing of the competition and have received an internship offer from a researcher;
  • be enrolled in a university undergraduate program and have completed at least four (4) semesters of the current university program at the beginning of the internship;
  • have a minimum average of 3.5 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent of a B +) in his current study program;
  • not hold another scholarship for the internship.

Launch date: November 16, 2020

Application submission deadline: January 14, 2021, 11:59 p.m.

Incomplete applications that do not meet eligibility criteria or are sent after the deadline will not be considered.

1The specification "Not authorized to work in childcare, primary/secondary school teaching, health services field occupations," must not be indicated on the study permit.

2The student must not have completed his study program at the time of the internship.
