Laser scanning confocal microscope (Leica TCS SP8) on an upright stand, motorized stage that can accommodate large samples (Scientifica). Resonant scanner (8 Hz) for fast scan times and lower photo-toxicity or bleaching. Pulsed infrared laser for multi-photon excitation with two lines: tuneable 700-1300 nm, and fixed 1040 nm (INSight DS+ DUAL). Four external, non-descanned detectors (two HyD high-sensitivity, two PMT), three internal detectors (one HyD high-sensitivity, two PMT) with spectral detection, one transmitted light detector (PMT). Full enclosure to protect from stray light interference.
