    Research Interests

    • Cellular and molecular biology and signal transduction in joint tissues;
    • Molecular interactions existing between endothelins (ETs), metalloproteases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of MMPs.

    Research Program

    • Osteoarthritis: Role of endothelins (ET-1) in the metalloproteases MMP/TIMPs system in human arthritic tissues (supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research).
    • Scoliosis: Biological role of estrogen receptors ERalpha and ERbeta receptors on idiopathic scoliosis.
    • Osteosarcoma: Role of the existing interactions between endothelins and metalloproteases (MMP) in the malignancy of the human osteosarcoma.
