    Career Summary

    Nurse and associate professor at the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Montreal, Dr Le May has more than 20 years experience in nursing, teaching, administration and research. Her main research interests concern pain management in vulnerable populations, more specifically children and the elderly. Her foremost research projects deal with pain management in children. She also serves as collaborator in other research projects pertaining to pain management in the elderly and is interested in the development and validation of new clinical measurement tools.

    • Patrick McGrath’s Award for Excellence in Mentorship, Centre for Pediatric Pain Research, IWK Research Centre Halifax, 2017
    • Selected for the Young Investigator Initiative of the US Bone and Joint Decade Program, May 2008-May 2009, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
    • Clinical Training Scholarship from the Association québécoise de la douleur chronique, awarded for an internship at the CHU Sainte-Justine Pain Clinic, June 8, 2007.
    • Grant from Endo Pharmaceuticals covering all costs related to participation in their Pain Management Program and the Annual Meeting of the American Pain Society, San Antonio, Texas, USA, May 1-8, 2006.
    • Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Pain in Child Health (PICH) Program, $25,000, July 2004 to July 2005.
