Career Summary
Dr. Eric Drouin is a Paediatric Gastroenterologist at CHU Sainte-Justine and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Université de Montréal since 1998.
His research interests are focused on allergy-related pediatric digestive diseases and eosinophilic esophagitis.
He has lead the University of Montreal’s training program in Pediatric Gastroenterology from 1998 to 2007, then was appointed Assistant Director of medical education at Collège des médecins du Québec, a position he held from 2007 to 2009. He then acted as Director of undergraduate medical education at Université de Montréal from 2009 to 2014.
Dr. Drouin sits on numerous faculty committees and working groups, and shows a particular interest in making use of innovative approaches in the delivery of undergraduate medical training and training in interprofessional collaboration, using social media in the provision of medical training, and integrating the notion of “Patients as Partners” into the training of health sciences and social sciences students.
Dr. Drouin also significantly contributed to the implementation of a training program targeting first nations health in the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal.
