Prediction and prevention of behavioural problems in children and adolescents
Frank Vitaro is a professor at the Department of Psychoeducation at the University of Montreal and is part of the Groupe de recherche sur l'inadaptation psychosociale chez l'enfant (GRIP). His research focuses on risk and protection factors related to games of chance and gambling in children as well as the interdependence between games of chance, gambling and consequences such as drug use, delinquency and school difficulties. He also looks at strategies aimed at preventing or reducing the negative effects of such problems. His studies, already the subject of numerous publications, are characterized by a developmental (i.e. longitudinal) and experimental approach.
