Dr. Maryse Lassonde appointed Officer of the Order of Canada
Montreal, July 13, 2012 - On June 29, 2012, Dr. Maryse Lassonde, OC, CQ, a psychology researcher in the Brain Disorders research axis and Director of the Laboratory of Electrophysiology and Optical Imaging at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital University Center’s Research Center, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada by the Governor General of Canada for her achievements as an internationally renowned researcher in neuropsychology with a particular focus on cognitive development, brain plasticity and the effects of cerebral concussion in athletes.
The award is an acknowledgement of Dr. Lassonde’s work, her exceptional devotion to the community and extraordinary contribution to the nation, notably since last January 4 as a scientific director and member of the board of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT).
Over the last 45 years, more than 5,000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
