Register now for the 2015 CIRCUIT Symposium on cardiovascular prevention in youth

Dyslipidemia in children

MONTRÉAL, April 16, 2015 – The Pediatric Center of Cardiovascular Prevention, Intervention and Rehabilitation (CIRCUIT) of the Sainte-Justine University Health Center (CHU Sainte-Justine) invites physicians, nurses, kinesiologists, nutritionists, as well as other health professionals to register for its 6th Symposium on cardiovascular disease prevention in youth.

The Sun Life Financial CIRCUIT Symposium will take place on May 13, 2015 at the Marcelle-Lacoste hall of the CHU Sainte-Justine. This year our theme is “Dyslipidemia in children”. Take advantage of this opportunity and benefit from a half day of cutting-edge talks by leading experts, who will be discussing such issues as: Postprandial dyslipidemia: what are the role and interaction of various organs in amplification of cardiometabolic disorders? What nutritional approaches are available for children living with dyslipidemia? What is the genetic landscape of familial hypercholesterolemia in Quebec? Should we screen children for hyperlipidemia, and how?

Our invited speakers are:

  • Isabelle Plourde, Dt.P., Nutritionist, CHU Sainte-Justine
  • Anne-Marie Laberge, M.D., Medical Geneticist and Researcher, Metabolic health and complex disease Axis, CHU Sainte-Justine
  • Brian McCrindle, M.D., Cardiologist, Hospital for Sick Children

This symposium is accredited by the Quebec Kinesiologists’ Federation and an application for a certification of the school of continuing of Université de Montréal is in demand.
