MONTRÉAL, June 8, 2016 – The CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center, affiliated with the Université de Montréal, announced today the winners of the oral and poster presentation competition that took place this past May 26, 2016 during the 31th Research Congress of Graduate and Post Graduate Students in Research at CHU Sainte-Justine. Out of the 146 authors, 22 were attributed an award for their presentation. They were evaluated by a jury of 42 members, to which the Research Center wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude.
The prestigious Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) award for the student with the best oral presentation was bestowed on Marie-Amélie Lukaszewski, a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Anne Monique Nuyt, MD. Marisol Lavertu Jolin, a doctoral student under the supervision of Graziella Di Cristo, PhD and Sophie Cardin, a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Sonia Cellot, MD, PhD, were both awarded a Network of Applied Genetic Medicine (RMGA) award, respectively for their oral and poster presentations.
The Research Center’s newly created Prix Relève was awarded to Fouzi Benoujja, a doctoral student under the supervision of Caroline Boudoux, PhD, for his poster presentation highlighting innovations in biomedical engineering. This award recognizes the presentation of a project which concept and potential for tool development of and knowledge advancement promise to considerably improve the quality of life of sick children.
The event gathered about 300 people who attended 16 oral presentations and more than 130 poster presentations. It was an opportunity for students, fellows and clinical research nurses to share the progress of their work in various fields.
