    Title

    • Principal Investigator, CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center (2023)
    • Assistant Research Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, Université de Montréal (2023)

    Education

    • Postdoctoral Fellow – Institute for Cancer Genetics, Columbia University, NY, NY (2017-2022)
    • PhD – Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (IRCM), McGill University, Faculty of Medicine, Division of Experimental Medicine (2010-2016)
    • BSc – McGill University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biochemistry (2007-2010)

    Research Interests

The overarching goal of my research program is to dissect the metabolic and molecular circuitries in ETP-ALL, and to propose novel targets for the treatment of these high-risk patients.

    Research Topics

    • T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL)
    • Early T-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ETP-ALL)
    • Metabolism of acute leukemia
    • Therapies

    Career Summary

Marissa Rashkovan completed her PhD in Experimental Medicine at McGill University, studying T-cell development in the lab of research director Tarik Möröy at the IRCM. She then joined the lab of Dr Adolfo Ferrando at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York. During her postdoctoral fellowship, Marissa Rashkovan focused on Early T-cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ETP-ALL) and the role of cholesterol biosynthesis in this high-risk leukemia.

The researcher joined the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center in 2023, where her lab will focus on characterizing the metabolic vulnerabilities of leukemia.
