Career Summary
My clinical research concerns premature infants. I have conducted or participated in several longitudinal long-term follow-up studies of very low birth weight infants. I am interested in the description of various morbidities in very preterm infants and in the characterization of their risk factors. I have described the survival and disability rate at 18 months of infants born at 23 to 28 weeks gestation, the health and developmental outcome of infants with broncho-pulmonary dysplasia, in addition to the nursery neurobiologic risk score and outcome. Moreover, I am interested in 5 to 7 year-old preterm children, observing developmental pathways leading to externalizing behaviors, attachment and self-esteem, mediators of behavioral problems and victimization. I have also been involved in analysis of event related potentials of preterm school-age children.
