Ensuring mothers and children health, from conception and pregnancy right through adulthood

The CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center is a leading Canadian mother-child research institution affiliated with Université de Montréal. It nurtures the vision of a Quebec where mother, child and adolescent health ranks among the best in the world. With this in mind, it is intent on fulfilling its mission of advancing knowledge and applying new findings with faster and less invasive methods and devices aimed at disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up starting at conception and pregnancy and continuing right through to adulthood.

Bursting with talent

The Research Center brings together more than 200 research investigators, including over 90 clinician-scientists, as well as 360 graduate and postgraduate students. Working closely with healthcare teams from five poles of excellence, Sainte-Justine’s research teams are engaged in fundamental, clinical, and translational research within either of the Center’s five research axes:

State-of-the-art platforms and top-notch support

A comprehensive set of administrative, technical, and strategic support services provided by the Research Center’s executive team benefit the research teams. In addition, they have access to unparalleled platforms, such as:

A world-class, brand new research center

The new 9-storey Research Centre will complement the current facilities and boast more state-of-the-art equipment. With a total surface area of 27,500 square meters, the new center will include 82 wet laboratory modules dedicated to basic research, two storeys including dry laboratory modules dedicated to clinical research, two auditoriums, common spaces and an office floor that will accommodate among the executive team. Some 24 wet and dry laboratory modules housed in the existing building will convey additional space.
